Meteniv Halfway House for Women

The Challenge - A Halfway House for Women in Ukraine

Several years ago the Lord laid upon the heart of Maria Borisova a burden for the imprisoned women in Ukraine. The fact that she did not have any money to begin ministering the to the imprisoned did not deter her. She began making bread buns and sold them to acquire funds for travel to the prison and expenses in helping the women. In her 17 years of ministry to the imprisoned women, she saw that upon their release the women found re-entry into society very difficult. The majority of them were back in prison within months of their release to the only home they knew. Maria knew the cycle would continue unless the women had a place where they could have time to adjust to living in society again and come to a personal relationship with Christ.

Maria and her husband, Alex, approached a Church in Ternopil and with their help purchased 10 hectares of land in Meteniv and with all local help, built a 2 storey, 3000 sq. ft. house. This home will house up to 15 women plus staff. With that much land they will be able to grow crops, and have several gardens which will provide the home with an ample supply of food. Also, chickens and other animals will be raised.
The residents will be enrolled in the 12 Steps program during this time and introduced to a saving knowledge of Jesus. They will also be taught skills to reenter society to become productive citizens. Also assistance will be given them in finding meaningful employment. We believe God will use this Halfway House to restore broken lives, families, to bring back mothers to their children, daughters to their mothers, wives to their husbands and lost souls back to God!  Click here to view the Meteniv Halfway House

From Meteniv Halfway House, 12 Steps will be taught as a pilot project at Good Waters Prison for women.  This prison project will be overseen by the leaders at the Halfway House. The goal is also to raise leaders  who then will take the program into other women prisons in Ukraine.  With Ukraine's stagnant economy and extreme inflation, Brother and Sister Borisov have found it impossible  to complete the house by themselves and have approached The Masters Foundation to complete the  following items. 1. Heating System. 2. Septic System and Plumbing. 3. Kitchen 4. Showers 5.  Flooring 6. Furniture.

THE COST FOR THE COMPLETION OF THE HOME IS $49,900

Jesus said, "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."

We ask for your prayers and support for all the incarcerated women in Ukraine and this project.

Will you join hands with us in completing the Women's Halfway House?
